Entertaining overseas customers?

“Have you incurred VAT on entertaining overseas customers?

If so, you may be entitled to claim a refund.

HM Revenue and Customs previously took the view that VAT on entertaining overseas customers was not recoverable as input tax. However, following a recent European Court of Justice decision, they have amended their policy and will now accept claims going back over the last four years.

Subject to the revised guidelines issued by HMRC, VAT on the costs of entertaining overseas customers can also continue to be claimed on an ongoing basis.

If you think you may be entitled to a refund, please contact us for further information.”
